Absence of knowledge can be a powerful thing. I am exploring three women in my family through imagined portraits. I know very little about these women. A great-great-great grandmother Lily. A great grandmother Cora Belle. And a great-aunt Anna. I do not have photographs of these women. By creating 100 imagined portraits of these women, I can explore my family and cultural history. My goal is for these imagined portraits to exude the personal qualities exposed through this process of exploration and introspection.
